Architecture Culture 1943-1968 is an anthology of seventy-four international documents with critical commentary. Both a sourcebook and a companion history of architecture, the volume traces the evolution of modern architecture from the midst of the Second World War to the student revolts of May '68. Many of the selections are from hard-to-find sources, and some are translated into English for the first time. Readers will discover a rich and illuminating array of material from a period crucial to understanding the present time.

Unlike KM Hayes' book covering a later period, the selections were made with the wisdom that comes with almost 30 years of hindsight and is less about the time in which it was published (90s).. Well written and very relatable!. Ryan does an excellent job of allowing his readers to walk in his shoes, and at the same time gain a perspective that has a way of hacking away at old prejudices. Great job, Ryan.. An honest and personal tribute to Brinson's first 30 years. Brinson takes you along the ride as he grew up in "The Bible Belt" while trying to figure out who he was and what he wanted out of life. To really understand someone it's best to "walk" in their shoes. Beautiful book. An excellent compendium of writing from that period. This books is a must have for any architect or urbanist interested in theory.. love hidden Russian art
