Before commercial whaling was outlawed in the 1980s, diplomats, scientists, bureaucrats, environmentalists, and sometimes even whalers themselves had attempted to create an international regulatory framework that would allow for a sustainable whaling industry. Whales and Nations begins in the early twentieth century, when new technology revived the fading whaling industry and made whale hunting possible on an unprecedented scale. By the 1920s, declining whale populations prompted efforts to develop "rational"what today would be called sustainablewhaling practices. But even though almost everyone involved with commercial whaling knew that the industry was on an unsustainable path, Dorsey argues, powerful economic, political, and scientific forces made failure nearly inevitable.<

Kurkpatrick Dorsey is professor of history at the University of New Hampshire.
The book provides an excellent introduction in high resolution x-ray diffraction (HRXRD) of thin films and multilayers. It teaches good health and lifestyle principles and it also will teach women more about the men they love. In the first three chapters I only found two errors (with the assistance of my professor) - one was in the statement of a theorem, and the other was in a hint at the back of the book.. I found this book to have strengths and weaknesses as I used it to prepare for the CPCE (the in-school precursor to the NCE).
The Upside: There is a remarkable amount of information in this book. Loved the two main characters. The details about the trials and tribulations of these people (women and men) are extrodinary. This isn't going to help you prove any of the problems at the end of the section. I was convinced that I had cured myself and that Linden was just a big old waste of money, judging by the fact that it took me six months to start feeling better. Baxter pro
