This book provides practical approaches to the efficient use of sparsity--a key to solving large problems in many fields, including computational science and engineering, where mathematical models give rise to very large systems of linear equations. The emphasis is on practicality, with conclusions based on concrete experience. Non-numeric computing techniques have been included as well as frequent illustrations in an attempt to bridge the gap between the written word and the working computer code. Exercises have been included to strengthen understanding of the material as well as to extend it for students and researchers in engineering, mathematics, and computer science.

We see the Pasadena Roadster Club of 1947 on their first Reliability Run.
We see excellent (indeed, legendary) paint jobs on nearly every page.

I think the best part is the narration. He has read almost every age appropriate book out there and he could not put it down from the moment he picked it up. What a wonderful take on science-fiction that doesn't involve vampires, fae, shiftshapers, etc. This is a superb road atlas, and an indispensible tool for anyone intent on touring the less travelled roads of Italy. However, the homework in Chapter 2 (on sequences, the first non-review chapter) is causing serious difficulties I did not anticipate.

In math, theorems are proved using prior results. I'm not actually at the place where I need it, but my mom is 97--and it is inevitable. In particular, I got the sense that Don Miguel Ruiz's son Don Jose, and the other co-author, Janet Mills, brought another dimension to the work that clearly added value to the book. Mi
