These things are portrayed – and very well- by Pat Ganahal in his new book: Hot Rod Gallery: A Nostalgic Look at Hot Rodding’s Golden Years: 1930-1960. It's not a have-it-on-the-fender book like a Chilton's, but if you're looking for a good primer on how your Holley operates before tearing into it- it's worth the money. Would have also like to have seen more discussion on powered trowels for flatwork, and finishing stairs so as not to see formwork impressions on riser (says to leave formwork on for several days, but that means no texturing options for the risers.).
