Thomas Szirtes is a professional engineer who devotes his career to consulting, writing, and teaching. He is a former Senior Staff Engineer at SPAR Aerospace, Ltd. in Toronto, and was one of the project engineers of the Shuttle Robotic Manipulator Arm (CANADARM) project, for which he received NASA's Achievement Award. Dr. Szirtes has published over 60 scientific and engineering papers, as well as a college text on mathematical logic. He taught at the Technical University of Budapest, McGill University, and Loyola College in Montreal, and was a founding editor of the SPAR Journal of Engineering and Technology.
Unlike KM Hayes' book covering a later period, the selections were made with the wisdom that comes with almost 30 years of hindsight and is less about the time in which it was published (90s).. An honest and personal tribute to Brinson's first 30 years. Maybe try another product from them?
They need to extensively update setting beater boards, setting, bracing, foundation pours. Good coverage
of form building and setting. The first problem was that I saw duplicate material within 3 minutes.
I own "Additions" by Taunton press, and yup, duplicate material.
This book is "OK" for all you weekend builders, or people with absolutely no experience.
However, any builder would be disappointed, this is an overview of what anyone with any common sense already knows, with no pro tips.
Another problem is that pretty much all the examples show North East or "Cold Location" foundations. My $15 dollars should get me a real book, not mag
