Ken Gibbs' family has long had an association with the Great Western. He started his apprenticeship at Swindon Works in 1944, the story of which is recorded in this book. Ken still lives in Swindon.
It's not that I don't like Martin Brundle, because I do, that's the point! I thought this was all about him and his racing career instead it's a step by step account of 18 race tracks around the world. I usually enjoy their "By Pros, for Pros Series".
That said, I hated this book. Von Dutch. Great book with great tips to keep your bike in good condition and to repair it if you have (but you won't have to because it is a honda !!). If you're old enough to remember Midway Airport when it was THE airport in the 1950's to it's near demise in the '60's and 70's, you'll enjoy reading about it's resurgence in the '80's to it's popularity today as in the 'in-town airport' with good fares and good schedules. He’ll be very impressed!. Also sections for race and high performance tuning. Will likely pay for itself in avoiding unnecessary upgrades.
